Association for Computing Machinery

Founded in 1947, ACM is a major force in advancing the skills of information technology professionals and students worldwide. ACM's provides industry leadership for the 21st century and a Portal to Computing Literature, authoritative publications and pioneering conferences.

ACM's Special interest Groups (SIGs)are world renowned such as SIGGRAPH for Graphics and SIGCHI for Computer Human Interaction. Locally there are professional and student chapters with either a general of special interest focus. The Greater Boston Area supports four professional chapters.
